I love making molded puto! I've been trying this out on a few bentos and I'm very happy with it. It's easy to make your own shapes and it really has a great texture.

I used this first to make Haku the dragon and then for a hedgehog and definitely plan on using this more often.

Sorry for the wobbly pictures. I really need to find someone to take pictures instead of trying to do everything at the same time by myself :P

What a great idea for a molded puto tutorial!
How long does the puto last? A few days or does it have to be eaten immediately?

Thank you!

Let it cool and the puto should last about 3-4 days in a ziploc bag (or airtight container) in the fridge.

Wow, this is so cute what a great idea?

Did you use apples or almonds for the spikes and raisins for the face?

Thank you!

The spikes are almond slivers. The face is just cut pieces of nori attached with dabs of honey.

What's puto?

:iconmindfire3927:
It's a steamed dessert cake that's made out of rice flour. Popular in the Philippines :D
